Best Car in Rocket LeagueSix Hitboxes, Same Stats, and How to Pick

There’s no fastest car in Rocket League. Epic says every car has the same stats, and only the hitbox changes: one of six shapes with slightly different length, width and height. So the real question is which hitbox fits how you play. Here are all six measured, and all 175 cars sorted into them.

TL;DR

The Answer in One Screen

Stats

Every car is the same

Speed, boost and turning don’t change. Only the hitbox does.

Hitboxes

Octane, Dominus, Hybrid, Breakout, Plank, Merc

Every car body uses one of the six.

Safest pick

Octane or Fennec

Both use the Octane hitbox, the all-rounder.

How to choose

By playstyle

Flat and long for flicks, tall for saves, Octane for everything.

The rule

Do Cars Have Different Stats in Rocket League?

No. Epic’s help page is clear: all cars have the same stats, and each car body uses one of six default hitboxes with small differences in length, width and height. Speed, acceleration, boost and handling are identical. What you feel between two cars is the hitbox, plus how well the visible body fits inside it. A car won’t fix your rank by itself; if that’s the goal, Rocket League boosting is the direct route.

Pro play

What Pros Drive: Octane and Fennec

No one publishes reliable car usage numbers for pro play today. What’s well documented is the pattern: Dignitas called the Octane the most used car in the game’s history back in 2019, when pros started moving to the Fennec. The Fennec uses the same Octane hitbox, and its boxy body fills that hitbox more fully than the rounder Octane, so touches off its sides and corners are easier to read. Want the settings pros pair with it? See our pro settings breakdown.

Our take

If you have no strong preference, play the Octane hitbox. It’s the shape most training packs, replays and pro clips are built around, so everything you watch transfers straight to your own games.
