League of Legends lists 2,000 champion skins on patch 16.21, and half of them are Epic. Above Ultimate the price stops being fixed, because Exalted skins come from Sanctum pulls and Transcendent ones from Hall of Legends bundles. Here's what each tier holds, what the top ones cost and which skins are actually hard to find.
TL;DR
Fixed store prices
1,350 / 1,820 / 3,250 RP
Epic, Legendary and Ultimate are the only tiers with one set price in the RP store.
Most expensive
Up to 32,000 RP
An Exalted skin comes from Sanctum pulls at 400 RP each, and the 80th pull is guaranteed.
Biggest tier
1,002 Epic skins
Half of the 2,000 skins in the game cost 1,350 RP.
Hardest to find
422 legacy skins
They're out of the regular store and only come back in occasional legacy sales.
Riot's client data tags every skin with a rarity. Counted on patch 16.21, the 2,000 skins split like this. If you only want to see one of the top skins in your own games, a LoL skin changer shows it on your screen without buying it.
| Tier | Skins | How you get it | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exalted | 5 | Sanctum pulls with Ancient Sparks | Up to 32,000 RP |
| Transcendent | 3 | Hall of Legends collections | 5,035 RP and up (2026) |
| Mythic | 170 | Mythic Essence (116 are Prestige skins) | Not sold for RP |
| Ultimate | 7 | RP store | 3,250 RP |
| Legendary | 128 | RP store | 1,820 RP |
| Epic | 1,002 | RP store | 1,350 RP |
| Standard | 685 | RP store, events and old promotions | 390 to 975 RP |
How to read it
Standard groups the 666 skins with no tier gem and the 19 Riot tags as Rare. Prices are list prices, so sales and bundles go lower. 422 skins across every tier are flagged as legacy.
Neither tier has a sticker price. You pay through a pull system or a collection bundle, so the real cost depends on luck or on how much of the bundle you want.
Exalted · 5 skins
Worst case: 32,000 RP for one skin.
Transcendent · 3 skins
Caps 2026: 5,035 RP entry collection, 58,865 RP for the signature one.
The Sanctum math
Each pull has a 0.5% base chance at the Exalted skin, and the 80th pull always gives it. Before that it's pure luck, so the pity counter is the only number you can plan a budget around.
Price and rarity aren't the same thing. An Exalted skin is expensive but still on offer. Old promo skins and ranked rewards can't be bought at all, so the only way to own one is an account that already has it. Here's how often the best known ones turned up in a stock of 1,667 League of Legends accounts on October 31, 2026, where 616 accounts carried at least one rare skin.
| Skin | Accounts | Share of stock |
|---|---|---|
| Grey Warwick | 209 | 12.5% |
| Medieval Twitch | 195 | 11.7% |
| Victorious Braum | 62 | 3.7% |
| Judgment Kayle | 58 | 3.5% |
| Victorious Fiora | 55 | 3.3% |
| Worlds 2012 Riven | 55 | 3.3% |
| Victorious Aatrox | 52 | 3.1% |
| Victorious Twisted Fate | 51 | 3.1% |
| Victorious Orianna | 48 | 2.9% |
What the numbers say
Grey Warwick and Medieval Twitch sit on about one account in eight, so they're old but not scarce. The Victorious skins from ranked seasons are closer to one in thirty. If you want one of those, look at LoL accounts with rare skins. Selling one instead? The guide on what a LoL account sells for covers how skins change the price.
Ascend Unlock is a LoL skin changer that shows any of the 2,000 skins on your own screen, from $14.99 a month. Other players still see your normal skin and nothing is added to your Riot account.
On patch 16.21 the client lists 2,000 champion skins, not counting each champion's default look, plus 7,166 chromas.
Exalted and Transcendent both sit above Ultimate. Exalted skins only come from Sanctum pulls, with a 32,000 RP worst case. Transcendent skins come from Hall of Legends collections, and the biggest 2026 bundle cost 58,865 RP. Guides don't agree on which of the two ranks first.
Each Sanctum pull costs 400 RP in Ancient Sparks. The base chance is 0.5% per pull and the 80th pull is guaranteed, so the most you can spend is 32,000 RP.
Not directly. Mythic skins, including the 116 Prestige skins, are priced in Mythic Essence. You earn Mythic Essence from event passes and Sanctum rewards, so it isn't a plain RP purchase.
The rarest are legacy and reward skins Riot stopped selling, not the expensive ones. The client flags 422 skins as legacy. In a stock of 1,667 accounts on October 31, 2026, Victorious Orianna showed up on 48 of them and Grey Warwick on 209.
No. Every tier is cosmetic. Higher tiers add new models, effects, sounds or voice lines, and stats stay the same.
The store preview shows it inside the client. A third-party skin changer such as Ascend Unlock can also show it on your own screen. That only changes what you see and adds nothing to your Riot account. Riot doesn't endorse those tools, so there's no guarantee against account restrictions.
