Why Most ADC Tier Lists Won't Help You Climb

Most ADC tier lists pull Challenger data or copy what streamers are spamming. Neither tells you what actually wins in Iron through Platinum, where games run longer, peel is inconsistent, and enemies fail to punish bad positioning until the fight is already lost.

Champions like Vayne and Draven can be strong on paper while still being bad climbing tools for most low elo players because they force you to fight the champion's difficulty ceiling and your opponent at the same time. The picks on this page are here because they are hard to play wrong and still punish the mistakes low elo teams make every game.

The three problems I see daily when coaching ADC players are always the same: losing trades because the player does not know their range or cooldowns, missing CS to chase damage that was never there, and arriving mid game two items behind while blaming the role instead of the lane phase.

Low elo lens

This ranking is not about what looks strongest in Challenger. It is about which ADCs keep winning when your support misses peel, your team overchases Baron fights, and the game state gets sloppy by minute 25.

Best ADCs for Low Elo — Season 15 Rankings

Ranked through one lens: which champions carry when the player holding them is still building fundamentals.

1

Miss Fortune

Best OverallTier S+9.4/10

Most consistent carry in low elo. Oppressive lane, zero-coordination teamfight ultimate, best combo in the role.

Her laning phase is the reason she's S+. Double Up bouncing off a minion onto the enemy ADC is damage that punishes players who don't know where to stand — and in Iron through Platinum almost nobody knows where to stand. Strut keeps her repositioning faster than enemies expect. She doesn't need to kite correctly to deal damage.

Bullet Time is the most low-elo-friendly teamfight ultimate in the game. You don't need your team to set it up. You don't need a specific angle or coordination. In low elo teams clump. They fight in choke points. They don't disengage when they're losing. Bullet Time into any of those situations wins the fight.

First item Kraken Slayer in most games. It works into the tanks that appear mid game in low elo, it doesn't require precise mechanical execution to deal damage, and it synergizes with her laning aggression from level one.

Best fit

Any player Iron through Platinum who wants results without a high execution investment.

Risk

Falls off if games go extremely long against hyperscaling comps, but low elo rarely reaches that state.

2

Kai'Sa

Highest CeilingTier S+9.1/10

Best individual carry ceiling on this list. Two broken synergies make her S+ without requiring mechanical mastery.

Kai'Sa with Nautilus is the most consistent duo in low elo right now. Nautilus lands Dredge Line. Kai'Sa's W passive stacks activate immediately. Void Seeker is available. Kai'Sa uses her ultimate to close. The entire combo requires one skillshot from Nautilus — manageable for any support player at any elo.

Kai'Sa with Pantheon is a different kind of broken. Pantheon roams at level 6 with Grand Starfall. Kai'Sa farms safely — her W poke threatens without committing. When Pantheon arrives he dives, Kai'Sa follows with her ultimate, and the target dies before anyone can react. Nobody in low elo knows how to play against a fed Pantheon roam. Games snowball in minutes.

Kraken Slayer first item. Void Seeker stacked on a target with Kraken's on-hit is a damage combination that shreds tanks and squishies equally. By the time you have two items Kai'Sa becomes difficult to deal with even when slightly behind.

Best fit

Players willing to invest time into the champion who want the highest possible individual carry potential.

Risk

Needs at least one synergy support to reach full potential. Less consistent with random supports than Miss Fortune.

3

Jinx

Late Game MenaceTier S+9.0/10

Hypercarry that exploits low elo's biggest flaw: nobody closes out games. Get Excited resets in clumped teamfights are a win condition that requires zero team coordination.

Low elo games go long. Teams take bad Baron fights. Objectives get contested instead of taken. Nobody knows how to close a 5k gold lead. Jinx was designed for exactly this environment. Every kill resets Get Excited — a burst of attack speed and movement that lets her chain through an entire team in the time enemies take to realize what's happening.

Jinx with Lulu is the safest version. Wild Growth on a Jinx who just activated Get Excited makes her nearly unkillable during the reset window. Lulu's Whimsy peels assassins or polymorphs the frontliner Jinx needs to kill first. Help, Pix! gives bonus attack speed from level one. The synergy requires Lulu to press buttons on Jinx — no mechanical complexity.

Jinx with Vi is the engage-first version. Vi uses Assault and Battery to lock a priority target. Jinx follows with Fishbones rockets. Vi kills the target. Jinx's passive activates. The fight ends in three seconds. In low elo nobody repositions fast enough to escape what comes next. Kraken Slayer first — Runaan's Hurricane second. Two items and Jinx is a legitimate teamfight threat regardless of how the laning phase went.

Best fit

Players who want the highest late game power spike. Best in games that go past 25 minutes — which is most low elo games.

Risk

Weaker early laning phase than Miss Fortune or Caitlyn. Needs to reach two items before becoming the dominant force.

4

Caitlyn

Lane DominantTier S8.2/10

Strongest laning phase of any ADC. 650 auto range punishes players who don't understand positioning — which is everyone in low elo.

Mechanics

650 auto attack range means Caitlyn hits enemies who think they're trading safely. In low elo this is every player. Her Headshot passive does massive damage when procced from a Yordle Snap Trap — and low elo players walk into those traps every game.

She pairs best with Lux or Morgana who can extend the lockdown window for headshot procs. She falls off in teamfights compared to S+ picks, but the lane advantage she creates can end games before teamfighting matters.

Best fit

Players who want to build lane leads without committing to all-in trades.

Risk

Falls off in teamfights compared to S+ picks. Relies on maintaining lane advantages into mid game.

5

Ashe

Utility CarryTier S8.0/10

Best utility ADC for low elo. Hawkshot vision and global stun create value without mechanical execution.

Hawkshot reveals objectives before your team walks blind into a Baron fight. Enchanted Crystal Arrow hit from across the map creates picks regardless of what your support is doing. Both of these tools produce value without requiring mechanical execution.

Her point-and-click slow on every auto attack makes kiting more forgiving and allows her to contribute to teamfights even when behind. She's the best choice for a player who reads games well but hasn't yet developed the mechanical side.

Best fit

Players who understand macro better than mechanics. Strong in long games.

Risk

Weaker laning phase than the other S tier picks. Needs to survive to mid game to provide full value.

Rankings are optimized for Iron through Platinum solo queue, where champion forgiveness and clean item spikes matter more than perfect execution ceilings.

Synergy Guide

Most Broken Botlane Combos in Low Elo

These five combinations work in low elo specifically because they require minimal coordination from outside the botlane.

MF

Miss Fortune + Leona

Level 2 all-in is almost a free kill in any matchup without a dash. Leona lands Solar Flare into Zenith Blade — Miss Fortune follows Double Up into auto attacks. Most low elo players don't dodge Zenith Blade. Most don't respect the level 2 spike. The combo requires following Leona's lead and nothing else.

Why it works in low elo

Nobody respects level 2 power spikes below Platinum. This combo punishes that every game.

KN

Kai'Sa + Nautilus

One skillshot from Nautilus sets up the entire Kai'Sa combo. Hook lands, W passive stacks activate, Void Seeker is available, Kai'Sa ultimates onto the rooted target. The sequence deals enormous damage before any support can react.

Why it works in low elo

One skillshot is manageable at any elo. The payoff when it lands is disproportionate to the execution required.

KP

Kai'Sa + Pantheon

Pantheon's roam at level 6 is one of the most punishing combinations in low elo. Kai'Sa farms safely with W poke while Pantheon leaves. When Grand Starfall lands Kai'Sa follows with her ultimate. The target dies before their team can react. Nobody in Gold or below knows how to play against this.

Why it works in low elo

Low elo players don't track jungler or support roams. A Pantheon roam with a fed Kai'Sa following is unplayable for unprepared teams.

JL

Jinx + Lulu

Wild Growth on a Jinx who just activated Get Excited makes her nearly unkillable during the reset window. Lulu peels assassins with Whimsy and provides bonus attack speed through Help, Pix! from level one. The synergy requires Lulu to press her abilities on Jinx — no complex decision making.

Why it works in low elo

Assassins are the primary threat to Jinx in low elo. Lulu removes that threat completely while amplifying the hypercarry that low elo is slowest to kill.

JV

Jinx + Vi

Vi uses Assault and Battery to guarantee a lock on a priority target. Jinx follows with Fishbones rockets into the clumped fight. If Vi kills the target Jinx's passive activates and the fight ends before enemies reposition. The engage doesn't require communication — Vi goes, Jinx follows.

Why it works in low elo

Low elo teams don't disengage fast enough from a losing fight. Once Get Excited activates after the first kill the fight is already over.

If you want to practice these lanes with a high-elo partner instead of a random queue coinflip, compare the formats on Duo Boost.

First Item Guide

What to Build in Low Elo

One item recommendation that applies to all three S+ picks.

KR

Kraken Slayer First — In Most Games

Kraken Slayer is the correct first item for Miss Fortune, Kai'Sa, and Jinx in most low elo games. It works into the tanks that appear mid game, it doesn't require precise mechanical execution to deal damage consistently, and it synergizes with all three champions' damage patterns. Miss Fortune's laning aggression activates it constantly. Jinx's attack speed passive amplifies it during resets. Kai'Sa's Void Seeker stacked on Kraken's on-hit shreds tanks and squishies equally. Second item varies by champion and game state — Runaan's Hurricane on Jinx, Rabadon's Deathcap or Shadowflame on Kai'Sa, Serylda's Grudge or Mortal Reminder on Miss Fortune into armor-heavy games.

GM Analysis

The Real Reason ADCs Don't Climb

Champion selection is rarely the problem. These three habits are.

01

Trading without knowing your range or cooldowns. Most low elo ADC deaths in lane come from engaging when the enemy has abilities available and you do not — or from being inside the enemy auto range while thinking you are safe. Learn your champion attack range in practice tool before your next ranked game.

02

Missing CS to take trades that are not profitable. A kill at the cost of 30 CS and both Summoner Spells is often a losing trade. The goal of laning phase is to reach first item with a farm and health advantage — not to force fights every time the enemy steps forward.

03

Stopping farm when ahead. You kill the enemy ADC at 12 minutes. The instinct is to roam or force the next objective. In most cases the correct play is to keep farming and hit your item spike before they respawn. Players who climb consistently reach their power spikes earlier — that's the whole edge.

How to Climb

How to Climb from Gold to Platinum as ADC

Fix these three habits in order and your rank starts moving much faster than any champion swap alone.

01

Learn your range and cooldowns first

Most lane deaths start before the trade. Spend practice tool time learning your exact auto range and which spell gives you the winning trade on your main ADC.

02

Protect CS before forced trades

The climb from Gold to Platinum usually comes from reaching first item on time, not from forcing every 2v2. Take trades that preserve farm and health at the same time.

03

Keep farming after you're ahead

The cleanest way to turn a kill lead into a rank climb is to keep collecting waves until your spike lands. Low elo throws happen when players stop farming the moment they get ahead.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best ADC for climbing low elo in Season 15?+

Miss Fortune is the strongest choice for most players because her laning phase punishes low elo positioning, her ultimate wins teamfights without requiring coordination, and her mechanics are straightforward enough to focus on fundamentals. Kai'Sa and Jinx are the best options for players who want a higher individual carry ceiling.

What is the best botlane combo for low elo?+

Miss Fortune and Leona is the most consistently broken duo — the level 2 all-in kills almost any pair without a dash. Kai'Sa and Nautilus is the strongest scaling combo requiring only one skillshot to set up a full damage sequence. Jinx and Lulu is the safest late game option if your goal is to survive to hypercarry.

What first item should ADC players build in low elo?+

Kraken Slayer in most games for Miss Fortune, Kai'Sa, and Jinx. It works into tanks, doesn't require precise mechanical execution, and synergizes with each champion's damage pattern. Adjust second item based on game state.

What is the biggest mistake low elo ADCs make?+

Trading without knowing their champion's range and cooldowns. Most low elo ADC deaths in lane come from engaging when the enemy has abilities available — or from standing inside the enemy's auto range while thinking they're safe. Spend time in practice tool learning your champion's exact range before your next ranked game.

How do I climb from Gold to Platinum as ADC?+

Improve your laning phase mechanics — specifically trade timing and CS discipline simultaneously. The gap between Gold and Platinum is almost never champion mechanics. It's knowing when to trade, when to farm, and how to maintain CS while building a health advantage. Players who hit Platinum consistently reach first item spike with 100+ CS and an advantage.

Is ADC good for solo queue climbing?+

Yes, but it requires patience. The champions on this list minimize support dependency — Miss Fortune and Caitlyn bully lane even with passive supports, and Jinx's late game carries games where laning phase was neutral. The key is not forcing fights before item spikes.

Which ADC works best with Pantheon support?+

Kai'Sa. Pantheon's Comet Spear poke sets up Kai'Sa's W passive stacks in lane, and at level 6 Grand Starfall into Kai'Sa ultimate is one of the highest damage two-person combos in low elo. The sequence requires no communication — Pantheon roams, Kai'Sa follows with her ultimate.

Should I play Miss Fortune or Kai'Sa in low elo?+

Miss Fortune for faster results with simpler execution. Kai'Sa for a higher individual ceiling if you're willing to invest time into the champion. Miss Fortune wins through oppressive laning and a teamfight ultimate. Kai'Sa wins through synergistic combos and individual outplays once learned. Both are correct depending on your current level.

Final verdict

Ready to climb faster?

If your goal is real rank improvement, start with fundamentals — champion mechanics, trade timing, and CS discipline. Our ADC coaching sessions focus on exactly these three areas.
