Mid Lane Priority Control - How to Own the Map

Last updated: 13 Jan 2026

Priority is the most valuable resource in mid lane. It’s what lets you roam, secure objectives, and control tempo.

1) Priority Starts With the Wave

You only have priority if your wave is pushing and the enemy mid must clear.

Rule: If your wave is neutral or pushing into you, you don’t have priority.

2) Build Priority With Slow Pushes

A slow push creates a crash that buys you time to move. That’s your window for roams and objective setups.

3) Recall Timing and Priority

Bad recalls lose priority. Good recalls keep you ahead.

  • Crash the wave before recalling
  • Return with item advantage

4) Priority Into Objectives

Use priority to secure dragons and Herald. If you can move first, your team controls the fight.

5) Mistakes That Lose Priority

  • Trading when your wave is bad
  • Roaming without vision
  • Recalling on a slow pushing enemy wave

6) Simple Priority Checklist

  • Is my wave crashing?
  • Do I know the enemy jungle location?
  • Is there an objective spawning soon?

If yes, you can move. If no, stay mid and control the wave.
